Hamish Lal Partners Limited is a Data Controller. We determine when, why, and how data is processed. • Transactions – Data may be shared with law firms, accountants, and other professional advisors acting for you or where our client is a party or otherwise connected in the course of, for example: i) A Corporate Transaction; ii) A Commercial or Property Transaction; iii) Due Diligence.

USE OF DATA FOR LEGAL COMPLIANCE

Please note that you will be asked to provide documents for identity verification. This is necessary for us to comply with our SRA obligations, including those under Money Laundering Regulations.

YOUR RIGHTS

Please note that Data Protection laws grant rights such as:

• Correction/Updating Personal Data,
• Withdrawing Consent to Processing,
• Objecting to Use of Personal Data,
• Erasure of Personal Data or Restriction in Processing,

DATA PROTECTION & RETENTION 

We have in place reasonable and appropriate controls to ensure that Personal Data remains secure against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, or unauthorised access. No data shall be transferred to another country unless such reasonable and appropriate controls are in place. The time period for retention of your Personal Data will depend on the type of data and purpose of use in complying with our legal obligations. Personal Data relating to queries and claims will be retained for a minimum of 7 years. Personal Data relating to recruitment will be retained for 6 months from the date of application.
