Habiba read Theology and Religion at the University of Manchester. She has recently completed the PGDL conversion course and will now complete the Solicitors’ Qualification Examinations.
At the start of her career in law, Habiba is a Paralegal providing support to arbitrations. She provides an array of assistance in international arbitrations which includes document management, document production, hearing logistics, and filings.
Habiba’s previous experience lies within the legal and administrative fields. She has interned with leading law firms, consultancy firms, and an international bank in London. During this time, she amended non-disclosure agreements and share purchase agreements related to a multi-million-pound acquisition of a target company. She also drafted documents concerning human trafficking implications in M&A transactions, performed due diligence, and managed all documents in preparation of an e-bundle for an international arbitration.
The maxim of ne ultra petita is well-understood. But, Tribunals also enjoy discretion to conduct arbitrations efficiently. What happens when these two concepts clash?
